I shot this picture in the Dominican Republic last summer, just as my other photos...
there was a boy everyday at the construction site who tried to talk English and I tried to speak Spanish... well... none of us really learned the language really well

but we had some small conversations... I shot this picture the last day we were there and he was walking behind me with a make-shift bubbler(I don't know the exact English word for his invention) up here in the Netherlands you can buy all kinds of plastic bubblers and I was supprised to see that he made his own version of reed.

I will buy a new camera soon so you all can see new photographs from me...

Difficult to see the actual bubble... but I like the picture, very natural and candid I think.. Nice job

Good image a bit spoiled by the background.. if you could not wait for the people to move out of the background then I would of stepped away for the wall and took the shot. making the wall the background. but hey. I might of also use a team of lighting technicians and a makeup artist... lol 8+

A lot of details lost in his hair. I would have gone for a more off center appoach and maybe more candid and overall a better photo if he werent looking at the camrea. The people would be easy to remove in ps.

It looks like a caribbean mood .... maybe just some cropping so he will be the center of the pic.... you know this is a matter of taste and what you want to show, so.... well done !

haha, what shall i do... Kurlowski's off center appoach or ClaraSoto's put-him-in-the-center-of-the-pic approach...

I agree with Kurlowski that I lost a lot of detail in hair, but don't blame him for having black hair, he can't help

well.... about the background... I could have photshopped them away but I don't know whether it would still be photography or manip... I did blur them a little in PS so you can focus on the boy.

Good shot Thijs... shame it's a little overcast - you're bubble might have been better defined with a bit of sunshine. As for off-set or center, Mike and Clara are probably both right... because you have the natural off-set of the wall on the right anyway. Heh... you can't lose!
